David has been quite abusive to Isaac, and there were rumors that David would be going into the Masonic Home and deeding the property to the Masons which would leave Isaac without a place to live. New Paris, Ohio May 11, 1906
Dear Bro and Family,
Papa is dead died Tuesday evening about 6 oclock just about the time I mailed your other letter but did not nkow it. He was buried on Thursday afternoon at 2 oclock. uncle John tried to get me to the telephone so he could find out your address, but it seemed that everything was against him until it was too late so he did not dispatch otherwise I think you culd have got here. It is too bad, George, as we 3 are all alone together so we will have to make the best of it. Even if papa did try to murder as is no mistake it was because he ws driven to do the deed by abuse and vile names as was the case. although the masons won't own it and as they coaxed Uncle David to go to the home and he and the other masons together would nearly have broken him up I suppose that and trouble he had afterwards with Uncle David caused the deed. But in my opinion there will be others will have to answer for the deed as plenty of people say so. I will send you a piece in the Mission (newspaper) so you can see how it is only some place the paper seems to blame papa, but it is the other way. All they blame him for that he used the hatchet. Papa left a will in the bank at New Paris for Omer to open and he is in Okla. and as soon as we get him word and he gets home I will let you know the contents. uncle David was still alive at noon, but he can not recover. All that keeps him alive now is the morphine they give him. as soon as that wears away he goes in spasms. Well this is pretty weather, but the frost Wed night killed all my beans and tomatoes and will have to plant over. We are all well at writing and hoping you all the same. Will went up to see Uncle David this afternoon and to kind of look after things until Omer comes...goodby to you all from your loving sister, Myrtle Null
