30. Roy Eldon NULL, G Uncle. Born on 12 Apr 1896 in Richmond, Indiana. Roy Eldon died in 61 years old - VA Center - Richmond, Indiana on 20 Mar 1958; he was 61.

WW I Vet. Roy was gassed with mustard gas during WWI. As a young man he had served time in prison for a $10 check. He had agreed to work on a farm for room and board and $10 a month. At the end of the month when he wanted his money, the farmer refused to pay. Roy took the man's checkbook and wrote himself a check for $10 and forged the man's name. The man pressed charges and he was sent to prison. He worked in a foundry in prison. During a fight in prison, another man struck him in the face with a hot metal rod. Due to that fight, he was given a 10 year sentence. The government offered prisoners the option to join the army and go oversease to fight in return for a parole should he live through the war. After the war, Roy returned to Richmond. With $500 paid by the government for his military service, he and Frank started Null's Hamburgers on the main street in Richmond, Indiana. Frank bought Roy's share of the restaurant within the first year.

Roy Eldon first married LaMonte LIGON, in Richmond, Indiana. They were divorced.

In 1921 when Roy Eldon was 24, he second married Bertha BRINKLEY.
