This WebQuest requires little formal teacher direction.
It might be helpful for the teacher to call the class together
periodically to discuss the findings of the individuals and
groups to be sure they are meeting the learning objectives.
During the time students are researching, the teacher can
monitor work and ask questions informally.
Maps: Why was the Nile River important to life in Ancient Egypt?
Culture: What effects did Egyptian religion have on Ancient Egyptian culture?
Government: Are there enduring goverment ideas today which existed in Ancient Egypt?
History: Who was the most important Pharoah? Why?
Economics: How did trade effect the culture of Ancient Egypt and other cultures of the time period?
Another effective way to generate questions is to have a question
box on the teacher's desk. Students can as an "I wonder" question
and the teacher can share that with the class during discussion time.
Playing the games the students create is another vital way to evaluate
the project. Students will need to play games created by other groups
as well as their own. The teacher can gain much information about
the final product by observing teams playing the games.
