The Task

YOU are a world famous archaeologist!  National Geographic has commissioned you to design a  game about Ancient Egypt to teach exciting contributions to the world made by this culture - including interesting trivia.

You may use the following tools in your discovery work:

  • The Internet
  • Artifacts you may locate
  • Books and magazines
  • Computer applications
  • Other tools and resources you find helpful
You may work with no more than three partners in designing this game, and time is of the essence!  It appears that a competitor has commissioned another archaeologist to make a game on Ancient Greece!   You want to grab the game market with a top quality product that really teaches!

Your game can be a traditional board game or you may create a computer game.  You must, however, strictly adhere to the quality control requirements.

Archaeologists

Archaeology is the study of human cultures from around the world and throughout time. Archaeologists find and study "artifacts" — items that people in the past left behind — to discover how those people lived, what they wore, when they hunted or farmed, how they built their homes, what toys their children played with, and what they believed in. Some archaeologists even discover treasures such as King Tut's tomb.
